JAKARTA – On Sunday, December 8, 2024, Sinarmas LDA Maritime (SLM) conducted a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program entitled “Baking Smiles for Children”. This activity took place at Panti Asuhan Tebet, Jakarta. This CSR is a form of SLM’s commitment to contribute positively to the community through collaboration with the Tzu Chi Sinarmas Foundation.

The event was opened with an official speech from the CEO of Sinarmas LDA Maritime, Matthieu Lavoine, who expressed his deep appreciation to all parties who contributed to the organization of this event. In his speech, he stated, “Today, we are here to share kindness and encourage the children at Panti Asuhan Tebet. We hope that this activity can bring happiness and inspiration for the children to achieve a brighter future.”

The activity continued with the symbolic handover of donations in the form of cash worth Rp20 million, basic necessities (sembako), and toys to the Head of Panti Asuhan Tebet, Mrs. Maryamah. The handover of donations in the form of cash and toys was carried out by the CEO of Sinarmas LDA Maritime, Matthieu Lavoine while the symbolic donation of basic necessities (sembako) was carried out by the Project & Program Manager of Tzu Chi Sinar Mas, Anita Dradjat. This donation is one of SLM’s concrete forms of support for the operational needs of the orphanage.

As part of the event, the children were also invited to join a cooking class guided by Chef Gita Mutiara and Chef Fajrin. In this activity, the children were taught to decorate sea-themed cupcakes in accordance with Sinarmas LDA Maritime’s core business as part of the shipping logistics industry. Cooking class is a creative activity designed to increase the joy and enthusiasm of children.

The event was closed with the presentation of certificates of appreciation by Sinarmas LDA Maritime CEO Matthieu Lavoine to the two chefs as a form of appreciation for their contribution in making this activity more meaningful.

Through this CSR activity, Sinarmas LDA Maritime hopes to continue to strengthen relationships with the surrounding community, provide a positive impact, and spread the spirit of kindness to those in need. This activity is also a form of implementation of the company’s values in supporting social sustainability and business sustainability.
